A dirt crawl space is bad, but a poorly encapsulated crawl space can be worse—because you just don't get what you pay for. A dirt crawl space won't lower your crawl space's humidity and condensation efficiently enough to prevent mold, wood rot, insects, critters, and cold floors or higher heating costs. Why have an encapsulation at all at that point? That's where CleanSpace© comes in. Our CleanSpace© crawl space encapsulation is created with a heavy, thick 20 mil liner that is manufactured in 7 layers, optimized for puncture resistance, flexibility, and brute tear resistance. Its attractive, bright finish allows you to easily see that the crawl space is free from dirt and mold. In addition with our SilverGlo© crawl space wall insulation, our encapsulation system will make your crawl space and floors warmer in winter, lowering your heating bills (thanks to SilverGlo©'s radiant barrier and polystyrene foam with graphite interior). Did you know that the earth has a very high humidity in the soil? That's why dirt crawl spaces tend to be very humid environments, allowing mold, wood rot, insects, critters, bad odors, and more. That's why we recommend our CleanSpace© encapsulation system, which provides a heavy, 20 mil thick liner (over twice as thick as industry liners) manufactured in seven layers and with UltraFresh©, an antimicrobial additive. It's an attractive, tough crawl space liner that is vapor-proof and warrantied for over 25 years against rips and tears. Below our CleanSpace©, we installed drainage matting, which adds additional room for water drainage, as well as added durability, puncture resistance, and a thermal break for the encapsulation system. Here the customer was having a problem with water entering the basement through the window. We installed our SumpPump system to help trap the water and redirect it away from the home.
As you can see here, this was the old insulation that was in the crawlspace of this home. It isn't attached properly and is doing no good. We installed our insulation products to help keep the temperature controlled and it looks clean and simple.
Here is a before and after of a crawlspace with continuous water concerns. We installed our vapor barrier as well as a sump pump to help mitigate water in the crawlspace.
