Crawl Space Repair Photo Album: Basement and Crawl Space Waterproofing in Cooper Landing, AK

This homeowner wanted to continue using their basement for storage, but seasonal flooding was making it unhealthy and difficult. We came in to completely waterproof both the basement and connected crawl space areas. Our TripleSafe sump pump in combination with our full-perimeter WaterGuard drainage system ensures that the basement will be protected against flooding long-term. To protect the nearby crawl space, we also included StarPipe drainage to remove flooding, and installed a heavy, 20 mil thick CleanSpace liner with a 25-year warranty against rips and tears. Lastly, to ensure the structural integrity of the weakened floor joists (due to past water damage), our SmartJack system was installed to instantly lift and support the floor joists, shifting the weight of the home from unstable soils and onto competent strata.

This WaterGuard installation is now complete with the concrete replaced. The inspection port is the only part remaining above grade for easy cleaning. The grey drainage matting below is part of the crawl space installation, which gives room for drainage and a thermal break after a thick, white liner is layered and sealed above it.

SuperSump Connected to Discharge Line

After WaterGuard drains water into the SuperSump, it sends it away from the foundation with the discharge line connected above. You can also see the galvanized steel SmartJack installed behind the shelf, which stabilizes the floor joists above.
