Danny D. was very excited to move into his new home with his family in Anchorage. He had big plans to turn his basement into a “Man Cave”. Danny started with laying down carpet and painting the walls, six months later he had a pretty awesome "Man Cave"! 

There was only one issue; the carpet would always seem damp. He replaced the carpet twice in one year because the carpet would start to have a terrible moldy odor to it. During the winter the carpet would be so damp you would have to ware shoes to keep your socks from getting wet. Danny was so upset, he loved his new home and "Man Cave" but was embarrass to invite friends over due to the smell and damp carpet. "there’s gotta be a way to have carpet in my Man Cave" Danny said and Danny was right!

Last week we received a call from Chuck, Chuck was very upset when we first spoke. He told us about how he was trying to sell his house and was not having any luck. Chuck said “I don’t understand it’s a four year old house in Anchorage, it shouldn't be hard to sell” so we started to ask questions. It turns out that every time a prospective buyer would send an inspector to examine the house the crawlspace wouldn’t pass. That’s why Chuck has called us!

Chuck told us about the standing water along the perimeter of the crawlspace and how the black vapor barrier had been ripped down. Thankfully during that first call we were able to set an appointment with Paul our System Design Specialist to visit Chuck.

Paul quickly put together a plan to remove all of the water from the crawl space and prevent this issue from ever coming back. First Paul wanted to install a Super Sump sump pump to remove the water from the space, but because the water was standing along the perimeter of the crawl space we also need to add SmartPipe to move that standing water the direction of the sump.

Now that the water was being removed from the space and diverted into the lawn we could move to step two. Isolate the house from the earth. This is when we use our product CleanSpace! Most vapor barriers are 6 mil polyethylene that can easily rip and get holes poked in it when you crawl on it, and that’s why we use CleanSpace. CleanSpace is a 20 mil thick plastic liner, similar to pool liner that can be fitted in your crawl space to completely seal off your home from the earth.

By the time we had finished with Chucks crawl space he was able to not only quickly sell the house but he was able to get more then the original asking price. Chuck called us with the great news and to thank Paul and the team for helping him out of this wet situation. 

Mr. Slafka, Had an inspector came out to his home because of the big earthquake they had last year and it messed up. The whole house was unlevel. We quoted him for 14 piers which is a lot for a home.

Our customer, Dennis S. called us one day because he was experiencing uneven floors. Once he realized that something was going on with his home he investigated further and found that a crack on the back corner of his home had pulled away from the rest of the house a few inches. He had noticed this crack in the past but it was small before so he did not think anything of it. Or System Design Specialist was able to diagnose the problem for Dennis as settlement. In this situation, the best course of action for the home is Push Piers. Once the piers are installed they then, become the new support for the home so that it will not settle any further. 

Hans P. gave us a call one day because he had some concerns with his foundation and his crawl space. Our System Design Specialist met the customer at his home to do a full inspection of what may have been going on. Upon further investigation, he discovered that the support beam in the crawl space was failing. In this situation, we will install our Supplemental Beam and SmartJack support system. This solution will permanently stabilize the support under the customer's home and bring them peace of mind.

A homeowner reached out to us after finding water in their crawlspace and wanted to know if they would benefit from having a sump pump installed. We got them on the schedule with our System Design Specialist to find out for sure what was going on with their crawlspace. After going out to the home and meeting with the homeowners, the System Design Specialist crawled through the crawlspace to find the source of the water. We installed a replacement sump pump for this customer. They had an existing one that wasn't getting the job done. We were able to get this crawlspace healthy, dry, and stable with our supersump. We also have our cleanspace encapsulation and silverglo insulation on the walls. Our sanidry Sedona is working hard to keep the air humidity down and keep the wood rot from happening.

This homeowner had concerns with water flooding their crawl space every time it rained or the snow melted. Over time the water then affects the integrity of the supports in the crawl. We went out and installed our smart pipe drainage system and super sump to direct the water outside of the home, along with our vapor barrier to cover the dirt flooring and silver glo to insulate the walls.

We then revisited with the homeowner to go over options for repairing and replacing the current supports. We installed our smart jacks in certain areas of the crawl to allow more supports for flooring.

This homeowner reached out as they had concerns with cracks along the walls inside of the home and had scheduled to meet with us to have us inspect the home and areas of concerns. 

We discovered that the home had a slight settlement that has caused the cracks to occur. Our Specialist quoted for us to install our push piers, also known as piles. These are installed under the footing that will then get drilled down to rock bottom. This will allow for more support and even a possible lift if needed. 

These do have a life long warranty with the home as they are a permanent solution. This is a life long investment that you will not regret!

This home owner reach out with concerns of water flooding his crawlspace. It has caused a huge muddy mess that will only lead to further damage. We scheduled a time for him to meet with a specialist of ours to go over the solutions needed. He was proposed our smartpipe drainage system. We had visited with this homeowner about solutions for his crawlspace. He had water concerns and noticed that his floors were slopping. This homeowner had reached out to us with concerns of water leaking into the crawlspace. Our specialist had examined the area and the photo below is what he had found. As you can see, the bottom of the wood is clearly wet and starting to rot away. There is efflorescent along the footing of the  foundation as well. This shows that there is consistent water leaking into the crawlspace. There was even water underneath and on top of his existing vapor barrier.
